A Day In Ginza

Jump to Comments A Day In Ginza

On Sunday, our first full day in Tokyo, we spent the day in and around the Ginza area of the city. This area is known primarily for its exclusive shopping areas and the cutting edge architecture of some of the retail stores. On Sunday, the main street through the heart of the neighborhood is closed to auto traffic and becomes a wide pedestrian thoroughfare. We spent the day in and out of some of the shops and department stores, as well as visiting the nearby Hibiya Park and Imperial Palace grounds. In all, we did a lot of walking up and down the various main streets and side alleys, exploring until we were beat from all the walking.

Of all things, we found a Nathan’s Famous Hotdog stand for dinner and called it a night. At some point, we’re going to have to sample some of the local fare, but having been exhausted from the day, neither of us were quite up for it at that point. Who knows, maybe today…

I put up the first gallery of images from the day here.
